We had many students who were invited to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educator's Association District 7th and 8th grade choral and orchestral festivals this year! They attended an all day workshop with a guest conductor, and performed for their friends and families at the end of the day. It was a great challenge, and a lot of fun too!

As it's begun to warm up, my general music classes have enjoyed taking their learning outside of the classroom into the sun! We've been working on our guitar unit, in which students are learning chord progressions and new songs! We are so lucky in Wallingford Swarthmore to have such a robust string program! We had a fantastic time playing in our recent district string night. At this night, each school plays a couple of pieces, and then all 300 students who participate in strings district-wide join together onstage to play a final combined piece: pretty inspiring! Here are some pictures of us walking to rehearsal and performing!
